Movie Review: Selma

Hello friends...

So, I went to see the movie Selma last night with my brother and friend at a theater in Dallas.

Overall, the movie was good but at the same time touching. Having to see the torture and how African Americans were treated during the civil rights era almost brought me to tears but my comfort came at the end, when justice was brought to the African Americans who lived in Selma, Alabama with the help of Dr. Martin Luther King and other powerful and influential African American men and women inform of granting thier voting rights and allowing them a peaceful protest without being attacked or brutally beaten.

The character of Dr. Martin Luther Jr that was played by David Oyelowo was applauding because he went into the character of Luther King Jr in full play and he certainly did justice to it. For the like of Oprah Winfrey, not so much of her in the movie but her presence in it was commanding and respectful.

With that being said, I will encourage you all go see this movie it gives a great insight of the civil rights era and it's conquest in the South.
